Reading the route
The start sits at the foot of a Buddhist temple, Wat Tham Chiang Dao, for a crossing through the tropical mountain forest of northern Thailand.
The race sets off at 10 am. The route climbs to its highest elevation, Doi Khun Mae Mae, over forested summits and ridgelines.
It then drops toward a string of villages, including a Hmong village, before one last climb, up Doi Suthep, near the end.
The finish is at Chiang Mai PAO Park. 48 hours to link the two towns.
