A single trail, run in both directions through the Ouachita National Forest: that's the shape of this race. The start is given at 6 am at Camp Ouachita, on SH 324, near Williams Junction, Arkansas.

The route uses forest roads, a marked stretch of the Ouachita National Recreation Trail, jeep roads, a paved section and gravel roads, with a first pass by Lake Sylvia right from the start.

It reaches its highest point near Barton Mountain and the neighboring Smith Pinnacle summit, before retracing the same trail back to Lake Sylvia, crossed a second time.

The finish is in front of the Great Hall at Camp Ouachita, the same spot as the start. The cutoff is 30 hours, with a Saturday start and a finish by noon on Sunday.
