Terms of use
Version of 19 September 2026
Courtesy translation — the French version prevails.
1. Purpose and publisher
These terms govern the use of plotrek.com, published by Fabrice Jolivet EI, trading as Plotrek, 37 rue Blanqui, 33110 Le Bouscat, France (see the legal notice). Purchases are also governed by the terms of sale.
2. Access
Access to the site is free. Plotrek may interrupt or modify it at any time, in particular for maintenance.
3. Intellectual property and database
The texts, posters, renderings, elevation profiles, race pages, photographs, logo, design and source code of the site, as well as the database that organizes them, belong to Fabrice Jolivet EI, as author and database producer (French Intellectual Property Code, articles L.111-1 and L.341-1).
Without prior written authorization, the following are prohibited:
- reproducing, adapting or commercially exploiting all or part of this content;
- extracting or reusing a substantial part of the database, or repeatedly and systematically extracting non-substantial parts;
- any automated collection (robots, scrapers, scripts) of the site's content.
Simple links to the site's pages are allowed.
4. Data sources
- Map data: OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
- Elevations: public terrain models (SRTM / AWS Terrain Tiles).
- Race pages: factual information (date, place, distance) checked on the organizer's official website, which each page links to. Texts are written by Plotrek. The sources used are listed on each page.
- Race routes: illustrative routes drawn by Plotrek from the course announced by the organiser, OpenStreetMap and open public trail networks (IGN BD TOPO — Licence Ouverte 2.0; U.S. Forest Service — public domain; Department of Conservation, New Zealand — CC BY 4.0; INEGI, Mexico; Regione Puglia — CC BY 4.0), credited on each page that uses them. They are not the official course of the races.
This information is provided for guidance only. Dates, routes and rules can change: always check with the organizer. A route shown on the site is not a navigation aid.
5. Races, names and trademarks
Race names and trademarks are mentioned for descriptive purposes only, to identify the event concerned; they belong to their owners. Unless explicitly stated, Plotrek is neither a partner of, nor affiliated with, nor endorsed by the organizers or trademark owners. Plotrek does not use their logos or visuals without authorization.
6. Tracks and content provided by users
When a user provides a GPS track (Strava connection or file import), they guarantee that it corresponds to an activity they completed themselves, or that they hold the rights needed to use it for this purpose. They must not provide a file obtained from a third-party site or application whose terms do not allow this use. Plotrek uses the track only to create the poster ordered and to display it to the user.
Reviews and photos sent for publication are published only with the author's consent, and removed on request to hello@plotrek.com.
7. Reporting content
Any rights holder who believes content on the site infringes their rights can write to hello@plotrek.com, stating: their identity, the content concerned (page address), the rights claimed and their justification. Plotrek acknowledges receipt within 72 business hours. If the request is well-founded, or in case of serious doubt, the content is removed or made inaccessible as a precaution as soon as possible, and the requester is informed of the outcome.
8. Liability
Plotrek takes care to publish accurate information but cannot guarantee that it is complete or up to date. Plotrek is not liable for the use made of the information or routes shown on the site, in particular during an outdoor activity.
9. Changes
These terms may change. The applicable version is the one online on the date the site is used; its date is shown at the top of this page.
10. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will first seek an amicable solution; failing that, the French courts shall have jurisdiction.
