The studio
Can I create a poster of any place?
Yes, wherever the required mapping data is available. Simply search for the place: the studio immediately shows the result that can be made before you order.
What is the difference between Terrain and City?
Terrain highlights topography, contour lines and summits. City focuses on streets, built volumes and meaningful buildings. They are two treatments in the same studio: switching keeps your view and additions.
Are buildings and landmarks reproduced exactly?
No. In City mode, buildings and landmarks are generated from available OpenStreetMap data. The poster is a simplified cartographic interpretation: their shapes, positions and level of detail depend on that data and do not form an architectural model. Check the preview before ordering.
Can I add a GPX, Strava route or point of interest?
Yes. GPX and Strava routes and points of interest can be added in both Terrain and City. In a city, you can also highlight a building. These additions are included in the price.
Will the finished poster match the preview?
Yes. The framing, treatment, text and colours you approve guide production. The screen remains a simulation; real paper, ink and pen movement give the finished piece its own material character.
Sizes & making
Which sizes and prices are available?
Three pen-drawn sizes: A4 — 21 × 29,7 cm — €59 ; A3 — 29,7 × 42 cm — €89 ; A2 — 42 × 59,4 cm — €149. Paper, colour, route and points of interest are included. The frame is not included.
How is the poster made, and what justifies its price?
This is not a digital print. A precision plotter guides a real pen across the paper, line by line. This is not a digital print. Every colour change requires a new pen and recalibration. Mass-coloured fine-art papers, from 160 to 250 gsm depending on the colour, selected for their feel and stability. Archival-quality pigment inks selected for line precision and resistance to light and UV exposure. Depending on the size and level of detail, preparing, drawing and checking one piece can take up to three hours. Every pen change requires recalibration; if an error occurs, the sheet is started again. Prices are calculated as fairly as possible from the size, materials and actual making time.
