Reading the route
In 2026, Angeles Crest 100 runs out-and-back — a provisional course set up after the Eaton Fire and the closure of Highway 2. The start is at 5 am, at Loma Alta Park, the same point as the finish.
From the start, the trail climbs toward Josephine Peak, crosses Red Box, then reaches Shortcut Saddle, inside the Angeles National Forest.
The course's high point tops out at 1,888 m. The trail then drops toward Chantry Flats, ahead of the last big climb, which runs from Hoegee's Camp up to Mount Wilson.
It passes Markham Saddle, then the Altadena Crest Trail, before returning to Loma Alta Park. Runners get 33 hours to complete the out-and-back.

The route, drawn with a pen
The relief of the course, a 162.7 km out-and-back from Loma Alta Park, takes shape as contour lines: our pen plotter draws it with a pen, line by line. Your finisher name and time go in the cartouche, in A4, A3 or A2.
