Reading the route
A single point-to-point line links the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean, from the heights above Bolquère down to the gates of Argelès-sur-Mer. The profile climbs fast before a long drop toward the sea, with one late surprise near the Spanish border.
Runners set off at 10 am from Bolquère Pyrénées 2000, at the Terminal des Loisirs. The route reaches its highest point within the first few kilometers, near the Serra de Clavera, before beginning its long descent into the Conflent valley.
From there it crosses Escaro, then Py and Vernet-les-Bains, on rolling paths and technical singletrack typical of the Catalan range. Past Baillestavy, the terrain eases into dirt tracks and short stretches of road.
The course's last real climb heads toward Las Illas, right by the border, then crosses the Coll del Pou before the final drop through the Albères hills. The finish is at the Château de Valmy, in Argelès-sur-Mer, facing the sea. The clock stops at 49 hours 30 minutes after the start.
