Reading the route
TransLantau100 loops around Lantau Island, in Hong Kong, starting at sea level, through subtropical forest and coastal trails. The start, in Mui Wo, is at 7:30 pm, in the evening.
The trail first crosses Pak Kung Au pass, then passes Shek Pik, before reaching the fishing village of Tai O.
From Ngong Ping, it climbs to Lantau Peak, the high point of the course, at 889 m.
It then passes Chi Ma Wan and Discovery Bay before closing the loop at Mui Wo. Runners have 27 hours to finish.
