TransLantau100 loops around Lantau Island, in Hong Kong, starting at sea level, through subtropical forest and coastal trails. The start, in Mui Wo, is at 7:30 pm, in the evening.
The trail first crosses Pak Kung Au pass, then passes Shek Pik, before reaching the fishing village of Tai O.
From Ngong Ping, it climbs to Lantau Peak, the high point of the course, at 889 m.
It then passes Chi Ma Wan and Discovery Bay before closing the loop at Mui Wo. Runners have 27 hours to finish.

The organiser announces 104 km and 4,500 m of elevation gain for the 2026 edition. Plotrek's illustrative route, redrawn on OpenStreetMap paths, measures 103.5 km and 4,431 m of gain. It is a loop, with Mui Wo as start and finish, Lantau Peak at km 53 and Chi Ma Wan at km 76.9.
27 hours for the 2026 edition, according to the organiser's website, read on 17 September 2026. That is the time allowed to cover the announced 104 km. Start: Mui Wo, at 7:30 pm. The time limit can change from one edition to the next; the organiser's rules prevail.
Lantau Peak, at 889 m, at km 53 of Plotrek's route. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Keung Shan Au (352 m, km 45.1) and Chi Ma Wan (273 m, km 76.9). The start and finish are both at 4 m.
626 m of elevation gain in one go, from km 48.2 to km 53 of Plotrek's route. Landmark on the way: Lantau Peak (889 m, km 53). No other climb on the 103.5 km loop is as long. Average gradient of this section: 13%. It accounts for 14% of the route's elevation gain.
