7:30 am: that's when the start goes off, at the Glentress Peel Visitor Centre, near Peebles, for a loop through the Tweed Valley Forest Park.
The route passes Traquair Village Hall, before climbing to the course's highest elevation, at 519 m, then near the Three Brethren, a triple cairn typical of the Borders.
It then crosses the village of Walkerburn, then Cardrona, on multi-use tracks and small roads, through the moors and hills of Minch Moor.
The finish is back at the Glentress Peel Visitor Centre. Runners are allowed 11 hours.

The organiser announces 67 km and 1,574 m of elevation gain for the 2025 edition. Plotrek's illustrative route, redrawn on OpenStreetMap paths, measures 67.7 km and 1,673 m of gain. It is a loop, with Glentress Peel Visitor Centre as start and finish, Three Brethren at km 31 and Walkerburn at km 48.2.
11 hours for the 2025 edition, according to the organiser's website, read on 17 September 2026. That is the time allowed to cover the announced 67 km. Start: Glentress Peel Visitor Centre, at 7:30 am. The time limit can change from one edition to the next; the organiser's rules prevail.
The highest point of Plotrek's route is at 519 m, at km 26.1. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Glentress Peel Visitor Centre (184 m, km 0) and Three Brethren (451 m, km 31). The start and finish are both at 184 m.
