Reading the route
The start is at 13:00 in Coverack, at 20 m of elevation. The whole route runs on the South West Coast Path, along the Cornwall coastline, through coastal trail, cliffs, beaches, dunes and headlands. It passes Cadgwith at km 11.3, then Lizard Point at km 16.9, at 36 m, and Kynance Cove at km 19.8. It continues to Porthleven at km 39.5, at 4 m of elevation.
The route then passes Penzance at km 61.8, at 4 m of elevation, then Mousehole at km 68 and Porthcurno at km 80.9. It reaches Land's End at km 88.7, at 35 m of elevation, before passing Sennen Cove at km 90.7 and Cape Cornwall at km 98.5. Pendeen follows at km 104.8, at 43 m of elevation. The longest climb of the route, 88 m, then runs from km 106.1 to km 108.9.
The route then crosses St. Ives at km 125.4, before reaching Lelant at km 131.6, at 5 m of elevation. It passes Hayle at km 135 and Godrevy at km 142.6. The route then reaches Portreath at km 154.2, at 6 m of elevation, then Porthtowan at km 160.2. The finish is in Perranporth, at the aerodrome, at 100 m of elevation, after 3,945 m of climbing and 3,864 m of descent, within a 37-hour time limit.
