South Downs Way 100 follows the chalk ridge of the National Trail bearing its name, across southern England. The start, at Matterley Bowl, runs in two waves, at 5:30 am and 6:30 am.

The trail climbs to its highest point, just 244 m, before passing Linch Down.

It then crosses Washington, then Saddlescombe Farm and Housedean Farm, still along the ridge.

From Southease, it climbs back up to Firle Beacon, then passes Alfriston before reaching Eastbourne. The time limit is 30 hours.
