Reading the route

This marathon runs a loop through La Rochelle, along the Vieux-Port quays and the Atlantic waterfront. The start goes off at 9 am, between Quai Maubec and Quai Durand.

The route first leaves the quays for the Camping municipal Le Soleil, right on the water, before crossing coastal residential neighborhoods, still in an urban setting.

The loop swings back past the Vieux-Port several times, including around km 21.4, roughly the halfway point, before heading back toward the historic center.

Near the end, the course passes close to La Rochelle's towers — Tour de la Chaîne, Tour Saint-Nicolas, Tour de la Lanterne — before the finish on Esplanade Saint-Jean-d'Acre. The cutoff is 5:30.
