Reading the route

The race starts at 9:30 on the quays of Pauillac, on this 42.195 km loop through the châteaux. The route passes Château Grand-Puy Lacoste, then Château Batailley at km 5. It continues to Château Larose Trintaudon before Château Lagrange, at km 9.9. The road carries on through Château Beychevelle, at km 13.2.

After Château Beychevelle, the route passes Château Ducru-Beaucaillou before reaching Château Pichon Baron, at km 17.5. It continues through Château Lynch-Bages, then Château Pontet-Canet, at km 22.9. The road continues past Château Mouton Rothschild and Château Lafite Rothschild before reaching Château Cos d'Estournel, at km 26.2.

The route then reaches Château Phélan Ségur, at km 33.5. It heads back to Pauillac for the final kilometers, on roads and gravel tracks through the vines, to the quays of Pauillac, the finish line, after 42.195 km. The time limit is 6:30, with six checkpoints along the course.
