Vezza d'Oglio gives the start at 9 am, at the Centro eventi, for a high-altitude loop that only returns there at the finish.
The route climbs straight away to Porta di Muralta, then to the Bocchetta di Val Massa and the Bivacco Linge, on old military paths and First World War trenches cut into the rock.
It then reaches the Passo dei Contrabbandieri, at 2,654 m, before dropping through the Bocchetta di Casola and the Passo Gallinera, on rocky mountain paths and wooded tracks.
The return to Vezza d'Oglio comes after a 53-hour cutoff, the time needed to close this high-altitude circuit of the Adamello massif.

The organiser announces 170 km and 11,500 m of elevation gain for the 2026 edition. Plotrek's illustrative route, redrawn on OpenStreetMap paths, measures 165.6 km and 11,385 m of gain. It is a loop, with Vezza d'Oglio as start and finish, Bocchetta di Casola at km 93.6 and Passo Gallinera at km 121.6.
53 hours for the 2026 edition, according to the organiser's website, read on 17 September 2026. That is the time allowed to cover the announced 170 km. Start: Vezza d'Oglio, at 9 am. The time limit can change from one edition to the next; the organiser's rules prevail.
Passo dei Contrabbandieri, at 2,654 m, at km 62.1 of Plotrek's route. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Bivacco Linge (2,288 m, km 38) and Bocchetta di Casola (2,381 m, km 93.6). The start and finish are both at 1,016 m.
1,559 m of elevation gain in one go, from km 0 to km 12.7 of Plotrek's route. It starts at Vezza d'Oglio (1,016 m). Landmark on the way: Porta di Muralta (2,573 m, km 12.7). No other climb on the 165.6 km loop is as long.
