One very long, unbroken climb defines this overnight loop, up to the Cabane d'Orny, a Swiss Alpine Club hut perched above the Val de Bagnes.
22:00, in Verbier: the starting horn sounds for the overnight loop. The route first climbs to Savoleyres, then drops to Sembrancher, before taking on the long climb that leads to the Cabane d'Orny.
Past the hut, it drops to La Fouly, crosses the Pas des Chevaux, then passes Bourg-Saint-Pierre, near the Great St Bernard Pass.
The route climbs one last time to the Cabane de Mille, then drops through Lourtier to the finish, back in Verbier. 42 hours, no more, to close this long crossing of the Val de Bagnes.

The organiser announces 140 km and 9,300 m of elevation gain for the 2027 edition. Plotrek's illustrative route, redrawn on OpenStreetMap paths, measures 138.4 km and 9,014 m of gain. It is a loop, with Verbier as start and finish, Pas des Chevaux at km 76.1 and Cabane de Mille at km 99.6.
42 hours for the 2027 edition, according to the organiser's website, read on 17 September 2026. That is the time allowed to cover the announced 140 km. Start: Verbier, at 10 pm. The time limit can change from one edition to the next; the organiser's rules prevail.
Cabane d'Orny, at 2,801 m, at km 45.1 of Plotrek's route. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Savoleyres (2,330 m, km 13.1) and La Fouly (1,607 m, km 59.2). The start and finish are both at 1,493 m. Altitudes measured on the route, with a terrain model.
2,086 m of elevation gain in one go, from km 29.3 to km 45.1 of Plotrek's route. Landmark on the way: Cabane d'Orny (2,801 m, km 45.1). No other climb on the 138.4 km loop is as long. Average gradient of this section: 13.2%. It accounts for 23% of the route's elevation gain.
