Reading the route

You start in Maloja, at the head of the lake, at 8:15, in waves, at 1,798 m. The first kilometers cross frozen lakes. At km 5.3, the route reaches Sils Maria, at 1,807 m. It then crosses Silvaplana and Surlej. Champfèr comes before St. Moritz.

The climb passes near the St. Moritz ski jump before reaching the route's highest point, at km 18.2, at 1,840 m. It descends through the Stazerwald to Pontresina, at km 22.2, at 1,765 m — last cutoff there at 13:00. The route continues toward Samedan and Bever.

The route then passes La Punt Chamues-ch, at km 35.3, at 1,698 m — last cutoff there at 14:35. It crosses Madulain and Zuoz, where the last cutoff is 15:00. The finish is in S-chanf, after 42 km, at 1,652 m; the line closes at 15:45.
