Reading the route

The start is in Sierre, on the Finges start line, at 11:00, at 560 m. The climb through Niouc, at 902 m, is mandatory for runners. The route then passes Beauregard, at 1,140 m, before climbing on toward Ponchette, at km 7.5, at 1,873 m.

The route reaches Chandolin, at km 12.4, at 1,980 m, to be passed before 14:10, then Tignousa, at km 15.9, at 2,184 m, before 14:40. The Hôtel Weisshorn, at km 20.3, at 2,337 m, must be passed before 15:20. The Weisshorn, the Zinalrothorn and the Obergabelhorn are among the five peaks over 4,000 m on the horizon of the course, along with the Matterhorn and the Dent Blanche.

After the Hôtel Weisshorn, the route reaches its high point at Nava, at km 22.9, at 2,424 m. It then descends toward Barneuza, at km 26.5, at 2,210 m, before reaching Zinal, at 1,675 m, after 31 km. The announced elevation is 2,200 m of gain and 1,100 m of loss; the last finishers arrive in Zinal before 17:30.
