Here, the hardest part comes early: this loop climbs very high within the first few kilometers, before settling into a long rolling stretch. Fieberbrunn sees the start at 6 pm.
The route first reaches the summit of the Wildseeloder, at 2,094 m, then drops to Hochfilzen and Waidring, before climbing back through St. Johann in Tirol toward the Kitzbüheler Horn.
It then crosses the resort town of Kitzbühel, climbs to the Pengelstein and drops through Jochberg, on high pastures, panoramic paths and rocky sections typical of the Kitzbühel Alps.
45 hours are given to reach Fieberbrunn again.

The organiser announces 169 km and 9,000 m of elevation gain for the 2026 edition. Plotrek's illustrative route, redrawn on OpenStreetMap paths, measures 161.5 km and 8,794 m of gain. It is a loop, with Fieberbrunn as start and finish, Kitzbüheler Horn at km 81.5 and Jochberg at km 120.2.
45 hours for the 2026 edition, according to the organiser's website, read on 17 September 2026. That is the time allowed to cover the announced 169 km. Start: Fieberbrunn, at 6 pm. The time limit can change from one edition to the next; the organiser's rules prevail.
Wildseeloder, at 2,094 m, at km 10.6 of Plotrek's route. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Fieberbrunn (776 m, km 0) and Hochfilzen (948 m, km 25). The start and finish are both at 776 m. Altitudes measured on the route, with a terrain model.
1,318 m of elevation gain in one go, from km 72.7 to km 81.6 of Plotrek's route. Landmark on the way: Kitzbüheler Horn (1,972 m, km 81.5). No other climb on the 161.5 km loop is as long. Average gradient of this section: 14.8%. It accounts for 15% of the route's elevation gain.
