Reading the route
In Stockholm, this marathon loops out from the Stockholms Stadion, between islands and historic districts, and passes through the centre twice, crossing several waterways.
The start goes off at noon, on Lidingövägen, next to the stadium, in the Östermalm district. The route first reaches Kungsträdgården, in the heart of the city, then follows quays such as Strandvägen and Norr Mälarstrand.
It crosses Djurgården, a national urban park, before Södermalm, across the water. The route also passes Gamla Stan and Skansen, as well as Högalidsparken.
It finally crosses the Västerbron and St. Eriksbron bridges, before Kungsholmen and Slussen, then the finish at the Stockholms Stadion; the time allowed is 6 hours 30 minutes.
