Reading the route
The start is given at 9 a.m. on Avinguda Diagonal, where the route holds its longest straight, 2.5 km. The race crosses Plaça de Francesc Macià, then continues onto Carrer de Balmes and Carrer del Rosselló. Carrer del Bruc leads to Carrer de Mallorca, ahead of Passeig de Gràcia.
Carrer d'Aragó carries one of the route's two water stations, at km 5.2; the other waits at the finish. The rules set no intermediate time cut: only the start, km 5, a turn in the second half, and the finish are timed. The route continues onto Carrer de Calàbria, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, then Plaça de Tetuan.
Passeig de Sant Joan leads to Ronda de Sant Pere, which reaches Plaça de Catalunya. Across the whole route, the course counts 11 turns, between a start and a finish set at two different points in the city. The finish line stays open until 12:00.
