Reading the route
The Munich Marathon starts at 9:00 from Spiridon-Louis-Ring, in the Olympiapark. The course, a loop in Bavaria, reaches Elisabethstraße then Leopoldstraße, through the historic center's cobbled streets. It then passes Sendlinger Tor and Rindermarkt, before Marienplatz, at km 7.6. The route continues to Siegestor, at km 10.9.
The course then passes Osterwaldstraße, at km 13.8, at the edge of the Englischer Garten. The park runs along the banks of the Isar. It then crosses the park and passes Chinesischer Turm, at km 21.2. The route reaches Tivolistraße and Montgelasstraße, before Vollmannstraße, at km 26.9.
The course then passes Werksviertel, at km 32.3, a redeveloped industrial district. It crosses the Isar via Ludwigsbrücke, then passes Isartor, at km 34.8. The route reaches Odeonsplatz, at km 36.3. The finish is in the Olympiapark, on Willi-Daume-Platz, by the Olympiasee. The finish line closes around 15:25.
