Reading the route
The Madrid Marathon starts on Paseo de la Castellana, close to Plaza San Juan de la Cruz. The route then passes the Bernabéu before reaching Plaza de Castilla, at km 3.6. It continues through Bravo Murillo and Cuatro Caminos to Manuel Becerra, at km 10.5.
The course then crosses Goya and Serrano before Alonso Martínez. It passes San Bernardo and Callao to reach Puerta del Sol, at km 20.3. From there it follows Calle Mayor to the Palacio Real. It then passes Plaza de España before entering Parque del Oeste, at km 23.5.
After Casa de Campo, at km 28.5, the route reaches Madrid Río. It passes Paseo de la Ermita del Santo, at km 34.8, before Glorieta de Pirámides, at km 39. The course continues through Embajadores and Atocha. It then follows Paseo del Prado to Cibeles. The finish is on Paseo de Recoletos, between Cibeles and Colón, after 42.195 km.
