Reading the route

The Los Angeles Marathon starts at Dodger Stadium, in Los Angeles, at 7:00 for the field. From there, the course reaches Chinatown, then City Hall, at km 4.9. It passes Echo Park, at km 8.9, then Silver Lake, before reaching Barnsdall Park, at km 13.8.

The route continues along Hollywood Boulevard to the Grauman's Chinese Theater, at km 18.1. It turns onto Sunset Boulevard, in West Hollywood, then passes the Chateau Marmont, at km 21. The course then crosses Beverly Hills, reaches Santa Monica Boulevard, then Rodeo Drive, at km 26.9. The route has about 19 aid stations, every 1.5 miles, and 10 medical stations every 2 miles from mile 6 on.

The course reaches Wilshire Boulevard, then Century City. It then heads toward San Vicente Boulevard, where the route turns back at Bundy Drive, at km 35.6, before returning along Wilshire Boulevard. The finish, in Century City, is on Santa Monica Boulevard near Avenue of the Stars, after 42.195 km. Finishers have 6 hours and 30 minutes, timed from the last runner to start.
