Reading the route
You start in front of Cardiff Castle at 10:00, by the Principality Stadium, on a point-to-point course that follows the asphalt of the city centre. The route passes Cardiff City Stadium at km 2.1. It then crosses the districts of Grangetown and Penarth, before reaching Penarth Marina at km 6.8. It then crosses the Cardiff Bay Barrage at km 8.4.
The route then reaches Cardiff Bay, where it passes the Norwegian Church and the Senedd. You pass the Wales Millennium Centre at km 10, then the Cathays district, before reaching Roath at km 14.7. It then reaches Roath Park Lake at km 18.6, where a loop circles the lake.
You then reach the Civic Centre by way of Cathays, after 21.1 km. Start and finish sit close to each other, in central Cardiff, where the race is organised by Run 4 Wales. The cut-off time is 4 hours; beyond that, a sweep bus picks up remaining runners.
