Reading the route
The start is at Mt. Telemark Village, near Cable, at 8:15, at 417 m. At Timber Trail, km 7.2, at 465 m, the checkpoint cutoff is 11:10. The course then climbs to its highest point, at km 10.8, at 528 m — the longest climb of the route.
The route descends to Boedecker, km 16.5, at 473 m, then to OO, km 20.6, at 459 m. It continues to Gravel Pit, km 29.5, at 409 m. At Mosquito Brook, km 35.8, the elevation is 386 m. The race covers 50 km in skating style, or 53 km in classic style.
At Fish Hatchery, km 41.5, at 375 m, competitors face a checkpoint cutoff of 16:45. From there, the route continues to Hayward, where the finish line is set on Main Street, after 50 km, at 369 m. The full course must be completed before 18:00.
