The Javelina Jundred is run in loops on the Pemberton Trail, inside McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Every lap follows the same circuit, and the poster traces one of them. Start and finish share the same point, the Four Peaks Staging Area — also known as Javelina Jeadquarters. The gun goes off at 6 a.m.
From the start, the trail climbs steadily along the Pemberton Trail to Jackass Junction, the loop's high point. The route then drops back west across the park to Wagner Trailhead, before closing the loop to the south. The ground alternates between the Pemberton, Shallmo and Cinch Trails, through the Sonoran Desert, inside McDowell Mountain Regional Park (Maricopa County Parks).
The 100 Miles repeats this loop four more times, after a longer opening lap that takes the Escondido Trail before rejoining the regular route. Runners get 30 hours to complete the whole distance.

It is a loop, with Four Peaks Staging Area as start and finish, Four Peaks Staging Area at km 61.9 and Four Peaks Staging Area at km 123.8. The elevation loss measured on this route is 1,663 m.
Jackass Junction, at 756 m, at km 13.9 of Plotrek's route. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Four Peaks Staging Area (510 m, km 0) and Four Peaks Staging Area (510 m, km 30.9). The start and finish are both at 510 m.
249 m of elevation gain in one go, from km 0.3 to km 13.9 of Plotrek's route. It starts at Four Peaks Staging Area (510 m). Landmark on the way: Jackass Junction (756 m, km 13.9). No other climb on the 154.7 km loop is as long.
