Around the Hardangerjøkulen glacier runs this loop, never straying far from it, on the DNT trail network. The start is at Liseth Pensjonat & Hyttetun, near the Vøringsfossen waterfall.
The route climbs to Torkjelshøgda, then Lureggane, before reaching the route's highest point, at 1,501 m, right at the edge of the glacier.
It then drops to Lake Finsevatnet and Finse, on the Rallarvegen, before crossing the high-mountain plateau to Krækkja and Kjeldedalen, then Storaberget.
A steep final descent brings the route back to Liseth Pensjonat & Hyttetun.

The organiser announces 95 km for the 2023 edition. Plotrek's illustrative route, redrawn on OpenStreetMap paths, measures 94.1 km and 2,817 m of gain. It is a loop, with Liseth Pensjonat & Hyttetun as start and finish, Finsevatnet at km 37.5 and Kjeldedalen at km 70.7.
The highest point of Plotrek's route is at 1,501 m, at km 29.7. The high point lies between two landmarks of the course: Lureggane (1,292 m, km 21.2) and Finsevatnet (1,241 m, km 37.5). The start and finish are both at 736 m. Altitudes measured on the route, with a terrain model.
