Oceania

Oceania sets two faces of trail running side by side: the southern alpine ranges of New Zealand, carved by glaciers, and the wild coasts of Australia, where eucalyptus replaces fir. Oceania's trails are often run far from everything, in a nature that has evolved in isolation for millions of years, away from the great migrations that shaped the relief of other continents.

Ultra-Trail Australia climbs into the Blue Mountains above Sydney, through eucalyptus and sandstone cliffs. The Tarawera Ultramarathon crosses the volcanic region of Rotorua, in New Zealand, between lakes and forests of giant ferns. The Kepler Challenge runs one of Fiordland's great walks in a single day, where the Southern Alps drop straight into the sea. The Great Ocean Road Run follows the spectacular cliffs of southern Australia, facing the Southern Ocean.

This isolated relief, shaped far from other continents and their great mountain ranges, makes topographic posters you will find nowhere else, halfway between a nautical chart and an altitude survey.
