Reading the route
The start is at 13:30 from the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, in the Nièvre, at 221 m of elevation. You reach Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier at km 14.9, at 219 m, then Neuville-lès-Decize at km 29.3, at 267 m. The course stays mostly flat, with a single 4th-category climb: 2.6 km at 3.9%.
You pass Lanty at km 78, at 288 m, then La Coudraye at km 121.4, at 368 m, and Blanzy at km 133.7, at 294 m. The longest climb of the course starts shortly before Blanzy, at km 131.4, and gains 169 m up to the high point, 449 m at km 151, where the course passes near the Col des Baudots.
After Buxy, at km 164.8 and 237 m, the course drops back toward the finish in Chalon-sur-Saône, at km 180.8 and 180 m of elevation. Over the full 180.8 km, the total comes to 1,850 m of climbing and 1,890 m of descent, so the finish sits lower than the start.
